Last year, Avenged Sevenfold created the Deathbats Club. Fans who purchased entry-granting NFTs also enjoyed unique perks and bonuses. Now, the heavy metal band are using blockchain technology to throw a spooky party.

Those among the 10,000 dedicated and lucky enough to hold an Avenged Sevenfold NFT have enjoyed perks beyond simply being in the Deathbats Club. Now we’re in spooky season, the band are organising a Halloween themed event to get everyone together.

Around November 2021, Avenged Sevenfold launched their batch of unique NFTs. Each one came with a special paired “trait”. These traits were given out at random, and essentially resulted in different attached perks. These ranged from meet-and-greets access, to free concert tickets for life.

This is a great example of NFTs being used in a more functional way, that benefits both seller and buyer. Granted, at first glance, this looks like just a premium fan club. But, the band is entering the web3 space in a way that could change interactions between artists and fans for the better. The group can provide fans with even more incentive to join the club. The revenue from the NFTs provides the band with funding for future projects. It’s a win-win.

Avenged Sevenfold aren’t the only musicians getting involved with NFTs. Recently, Muse became the first band to top the UK album charts with a record partially released as an NFT. Manchester rapper, Aitch came in at number two in the same charts the week before with his debut album, which was also available as an NFT.

A7X Horror Night

Last week, Avenged Sevenfold unveiled plans for a presumably raucous and hedonistic Halloween party in Orange County, California. The event is set to take place on the 29th of October, the closest Saturday to Halloween night.

The heavy metal band have invited Avenged Sevenfold NFT owners to don their best scary costumes, and prepare for a night of food, drinks, games, and tattoos. Proceedings will kick off at 7pm and run until midnight.

There is a slight catch, though. Owning a Deathbats Club NFT does not automatically grant you access to the party. Attendees are limited to 150, so just a small percentage of the full 10,000. You can only be among the 150 if you are aged 21 or over. Fans are encouraged to only RSVP if they actually intend on going to the party. If they do, an email nearer the time will be sent out containing more details on where to find the event.

In order to gain access, you must be able to authenticate your Deathbats Club token on https://avengedsevenfold.io/. Fans are reminded to ensure their ID matches what’s on their profile, since this is how they will check into the party. Deathbats Club token holders have until the 21st of October to RSVP.
